Search for a city only. Pick a suggestion or press Enter.
Optional GPX or GeoJSON only. If loaded, the app can sample route checkpoints automatically. Route distance always overrides presets; route duration also overrides it when the file contains time data.
Import a saved route or recent activity.
Choose the sports/legs that are actually part of the session. This influences the checklist and water-temperature relevance.
Pick an activity to load the usual event-distance presets.
Preset distance is used.
Planned preset: 1 h.
Preset duration is used.
Optional. Used when it makes sense.
Adjusts clothing for how hard the session should feel. Low effort nudges warmer; hard/race efforts nudge lighter because you generate more heat.
Tune the recommendations if you usually run hot or cold. Warmer/red nudges toward more coverage; cooler/blue nudges toward lighter kit.
Race day timing uses your planned duration to show the full day and event window.
Fetch a location first to unlock the valid forecast range.
Advanced limits
Fetch a location and choose a duration to search for a best weather window.
Use this to tell the fallback model how quickly the water usually warms or cools. Deep lakes lag more; shallow/sheltered water reacts faster.
Onshore can push warmer surface water toward shore; offshore can pull colder water up or away. Leave neutral when you are not sure.
Indoor/heated pools skip the fallback. Outdoor unheated pools use the estimate when no better local reading exists.
If no measured marine water temperature is available, the app can estimate a conservative fallback from recent air temperatures, broad latitude band, season, wind exposure, and water-body type.
Visible only when the toggle is open. Manual water temperature overrides fetched or estimated water data. Quick lookup:seatemperature.infoseatemperature.org
Smart = time-based, terrain/daylight/weather-aware checkpoints with route-aware wind notes. Standard = evenly spaced by route progress.
Start time drives the forecast and daylight. Water temperature uses measured data first, then estimated fallback when possible, with manual override available when you have a better local reading. Loaded routes override preset distance, and route timing overrides duration when available.
Load a route to see it on the map and sample checkpoint weather.
